LANDFALL NEWS

A Word from the Chief

July 3, 2018

As the holiday approaches there are a few helpful reminders I would like to provide.  This time of year brings an increase in visitors and guests, and we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time.

Snakes

I would like to mention that the warm weather has brought the snakes out. Please be mindful of this while engaging in outdoor activities. For more information about the snakes in this area, visit our website at www.landfall.org/wildlife.

Gate Strikes

Gate strikes are on the rise with the Drysdale gate being affected the most.  This can easily happen if you have purchased a new vehicle, forgetting it does not yet have a sticker, or if your barcode has expired or not had time to be read by the scanner. This can also happen when someone tailgates and the barcode reader is only scanning the first vehicle.  This can be avoided by slowing down as you approach the gate, making sure that if your barcode is not read, you do not run into the gate arm. If you have a new vehicle without a barcode or have an expired barcode, please enter through the manned gates until you are able to get a barcode.  Also, please be reminded that the Drysdale Gate is manned from 6:30am-6:00pm Monday through Saturday and unmanned on Sundays.  Guests must use the Eastwood or Arboretum Gates during the unmanned hours.

Bicyclists and Pedestrians

Please make sure that you share the road and do not lose patience in trying to pass bicyclists or joggers.  Bicyclists and joggers also need to be aware of their responsibility by following the simple rules of walking or jogging against the flow of traffic and riding your bike with the flow of traffic. Also, all bicyclists and joggers should be in single file.

Report Suspicious Activity

And finally, please report any suspicious people or activities to Security. We want to be proactive with making sure people are where they are supposed to be while in Landfall.

Thank you from your security staff, and I hope everyone has a great summer!
