Dear Landfall Residents,

The City of Wilmington, City Council will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be held at the Wilmington Convention Center located at 10 Convention Center Drive in Wilmington, NC.

This special meeting of the City Council has been called to hold public hearings related to two special use permits submitted for approval. One of these permits pertains to the Center Point development located at 1531 & 1541 Eastwood Road. This development has created quite the buzz in our community since its’ first mention in early 2018. The developer had initially requested a height variance to allow for three 75 foot tall structures, two of which would run adjacent to Military Cutoff and Eastwood roads, as well as a revision to the site plan relocating some of the structures within the property.

We received confirmation from Brian Chambers, Senior Planner for the City of Wilmington, that Center Point is actually withdrawing their request for additional building height for the additional structures and will be reducing the height of the hotel to the by-right height of 55 feet. The only structure above the by-right will be the apartments/parking deck, which will remain at 68 feet. They will still be pursuing a modification to their site plan to adjust building locations.
