LANDFALL NEWS

A word from the Chief

December 11, 2017

Dear Landfall Owners,

I want to wish everyone happy holidays. I am very excited to be the new Chief of Security for such a wonderful community. I previously worked for 20 years as a law enforcement officer for the City of Wilmington. I have assisted Landfall Security in the past and I am looking forward to my future with Landfall.

With this happy time of year, comes the inevitable scams. I want to notify our residents about the newest one that has been brought to my attention. An individual calls and claims they are with the sheriffs department stating that jury duty was missed. The caller asks if you wish to pay a fine to avoid penalties, and then they will transfer you to someone for payment. Please be aware that in the event an individual actually misses jury duty, written correspondence is sent to the individuals address. The sheriffs department does NOT make telephone calls regarding missed jury duty. I cannot stress enough to NEVER give out your personal information over the phone unless you are sure about the individual you are speaking with. If you have any questions or doubts, please call the police to verify before doing anything.

Lastly, as the holidays are upon us, I want to send a friendly reminder to please lock your vehicles. This is the time of year that thieves target vehicles that are not locked or they see valuables in sight. Please make sure that you do not leave valuables or packages in sight. Place them in your trunk or other places that cannot be seen. When you return home, make sure that you remove all valuables and lock your vehicle.

Again, I am very excited to serve Landfall. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns by email at cadam@landfall.org or by calling (910) 256-5311. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday.
