LANDFALL NEWS

Water Main Flushing

July 12, 2019

We have been informed that starting Monday night, July 15, and continuing through Thursday night, July 18, the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) will be resuming the Sweeney flushing program within Landfall. During this process, water is forced through pipes at high velocity and systematically flushed out of the fire hydrants, removing accumulated sediment.

To minimize customer impact, the program work is conducted during the overnight hours between 9:00 pm and 7:00 am. Because of the nature of the process, it is possible that customers may experience periods of low pressure and/or water discoloration while flushing is being conducted in your area. Customers who do experience discoloration are advised to run the cold water for at least one to three minutes to allow the lines to clear.

If you have any questions on the water line flushing or for additional information you may contact the CFPUA at 910-332-6550.
