The CERT Program

Landfall Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Inc. volunteers are part of the New Hanover County Office of Emergency Management CERT group. The CERT program is a national effort to train ordinary citizens in basic skills to take care of their own communities in times of need until substantial professional resources can reach the area. The 30+ Landfall volunteers may be called to assist in first aid, small fire suppression, search and rescue or other services as the County may request. Each has completed a 25 hour course offered through OEM of New Hanover County. Residents have basic equipment/supplies carried in backpacks to respond quickly. As a 501.C.3 charitable organization, funds are raised to purchase equipment and supplies to assist the Greater Wilmington Area.

SpringFest, the organization's annual fund raiser in late April, showcases the emergency services provided by our Wilmington Police Department, Wilmington Fire Department, and NHRMC Emergency Medical Services and provides the opportunity to purchase emergency items, learn about specific safety topics, and get families better prepared for emergencies.

Landfall CERT also volunteers within Landfall when situations require trained manpower on short notice, i.e. looking for lost individuals, assisting professional responders as needed, or other situations. Courses in First Aid and CPR are arranged in the spring and fall for residents and Country Club of Landfall members who want to be better prepared for family emergencies.

Volunteers are always welcome. Please click here to send us an email or call 910-256-7651 for questions, more information, or to make a donation.
