The Nicklaus Course

“Our goal and challenge at Landfall was to design a course that preserves and enhances the natural character of the land. The design features holes that take strategic advantage of the property’s abundant saltwater and freshwater marshes and indigenous pine trees. Holes are designed on bluff areas that provide beautiful views overlooking the nearby Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway”, said Jack Nicklaus of his par-72, 27-hole, championship course at the Country Club of Landfall.

The Nicklaus course is divided into 3 nine-hole courses aptly named for their unique terrains that allow for a wide variety of play. The layout offers many shot-making challenges and few golfers will come away from the course without hitting every club in their bag.

The Ocean course and the Marsh course, the original nines, challenge players with long carries over vistas of salt marshes, gurgling creeks, and pristine ponds while offering views of the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic Ocean, and the spectacular wildlife of Howe’s Creek. The Pines course was added in 2001 and serves up the latest challenges that the Nicklaus design team has to offer. The courses have five sets of tees ranging from 4,959 yards to over 7,100 yards for 18 holes.

The Nicklaus course facilities include a newly constructed Golf House with locker rooms, a complete practice facility, a snack bar, and a clubhouse with a member’s Tavern and men’s and women’s 19th holes.
